BOOOOOOOO

That's the sound that resonated in the theater at Madison Square Garden when the Knicks selected Italian forward Danilo Gallinari.

Most of those boos came more out of ignorance than anything else. Very few fans in attendance know much about the Italian swingman that comes to the most critical city in the world from a team called Armani Jeans in Milan, Italy.

Gallinari  is no lock to  begin the season in the starting lineup and is somewhat of a project. The poor progression of Italian Andrea Bargnani in Toronto  and the continued failures of the Knicks franchise in recent years may make it impossibly for Knicks fans to be patient with Gallinari, which is why this pick may have been a little bit of a stretch. New York is not a great place to bring a player along slowly.

Eric Gordon from Indiana went after Gallinari to the Clippers, who were desperately in need of guard help. He's can't play the point, which is what the Clippers really need, but he could instantly overtake Cuttino Mobley as the starting point guard.
